The Museum offers several self-guided audio tours of the collections for visitors to enjoy at their own pace. A $5 rental charge includes each of the tours listed below. Additional tours may also be available throughout the year as part of selected Museum exhibitions.

• Director's Delights: Discover the legacy of Anne d'Harnoncourt (1943–2008), the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s late and beloved Director, through the works of art she treasured most.
• Arms and Armor: Travel back to the days of knights as you discover facts and fantasies about the Museum's vast holdings of armor and weaponry. A good tour for parents and children.
• Museum Highlights: Discover a particularly noteworthy selection of works of art in a variety of mediums.
• Modern and Contemporary Art: Enjoy an insider's perspective on the Museum's world-class collections of art created from the dawn of the twentieth century to the present day.
• American Art Kids Tour: Through wacky facts, sound effects, and curious quizzes, this tour brings American art to life for kids 4–14.
