A dynamic philanthropic community of trustees, civic leaders, and other art-minded individuals, the Upper Level members have been a crucial part of the Museum's growth and outreach since 1969. Their generous contributions, directed toward education programs, ongoing research, and conservation of the collections, represent the Museum's largest source of unrestricted funding—the funding necessary to keep the Museum’s doors open to over one million visitors a year.

As a Patron, Associate or Chairman's Council member, you too can help ensure that the Museum remains a place of unlimited learning for everyone who enters its doors, from schoolchildren taking part in acclaimed education programs to international visitors strolling through the galleries for the first time.

Associates Breakfast and Tour: Gee's Bend
Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 8:00 a.m.

Join other Associates members for a delightful breakfast and tour of Gee’s Bend: The Architecture of the Quilt. This exhibition examines the resurgence of interest in quilting in Gee’s Bend, Alabama, especially since the landmark 2002 traveling exhibition The Quilts of Gee’s Bend that brought these artists international renown. The quilts are widely acclaimed as spectacular examples of modern, abstract art, and their makers as brilliantly creative self-taught artists.
